Meet the Team

We consist of several departments, each headed up by its own contract manager:

David Prince, Director / Contracts Manager

Qualifications: Technician Education Council 105200, Level 3 Certificate in Design, Erection and Verification of Electrical Installations 2900. 17th Edition IEE Electrical Wiring Regulations 2008.
Experience: Technician at Firestone Tyre and Rubber Company 1977 - 1982. Barlow's 1983 to date.
Role: Managing electrical installations for commercial shop fitting and multi-media clients.

Mark Holden, Electrical Testing Manager

Qualifications: C&G 236 Pts 1+2; C&G 2391 Inspection & Test; C&G 2391 Design, Erection & Verification - level 3; C&G 2382-100 Level 3; BS5839 Part 1-2002 Unit 1 - Fire Detection Design; BS5839 Part 1 - 2002 Unit 4 - Fire Detection System Installation & Testing.
Experience: Mark started work at Barlows as an electrical apprentice in 1990. After serving a three year apprenticeship he progressed to become a fully qualified electrical engineer. In 1995 Mark was promoted to the position of electrical testing manager of the Testing Department. Mark is now responsible for all aspects of the quality of work throughout the company.
Role: Senior electrical testing manager responsible for the quality of work and standards developed throughout the company.

Rob Craggs, Contracts Manager

Qualifications: C&G Level 3 certificate in the design, erection and verification of electrical installations 2900 C&G 2382 JIB Approved electrician. C&G 16th &17th edition IEE  wiring regulations 2008 C&G  Inspection and testing 2391.
Experience: Rob joined Barlow’s in 2003 after 20 years experience in electrical contracting. Shortly after joining Barlow’s Rob took over the running of domestic installations and now manages a team of electrical engineers specialising in wiring properties from small terraced to multi-million pound mansions.
Role: Managing projects for domestic clients from planning to completion.

Stewart Ellis, Domestic Maintenance Manager

Qualifications: C&G 16th & 17th edition IEE wiring regulations 2008. C&G Level 3 in design erection and verification of electrical installations C&G JIB Approved electrician.
Experience:Stewart joined Barlow’s in 1972 after serving his apprenticeship with Malpas Electrical. From those early days Stewart has progressed through the company and now manages a team specialising in domestic maintenance.
Role: Domestic Maintenance manager.

Rob Kynaston, Contract Manager, Building & Property Maintenance

Qualifications: City & Guilds, Advanced Craft Carpentry and Joinery.
Experience: Rob had a traditional joinery apprenticeship with a local company from leaving school and gained experience in all aspects of joinery and the building trade, including site, workshop, shop fitting and exhibition works.
Rob joined Barlows in 2000 quickly developing and managing the building and joinery department.
Role: Quoting and managing all works and maintenance contracts for domestic customers and housing associations.

Rob Lewis, IT Manager

Qualifications: HNC electronic engineering.
Experience: Rob started with Barlows when only 16 as an apprentice within the electronic service division - a constantly changing and evolving position which eventually saw him take the position of head of IT. Ever wishing to try something new Rob recently obtained his full private pilots licence.
Role: IT management and telecommunications project planning.

Richard Morris QS Manchester

Qualifications: C&G2351 NVQ level 3, C&G2391, C&G2382, JIB Approved Electrician.
Experience: Richard started at Barlows (UK) Ltd as an electrical apprentice at the age of 16 after leaving school and having an interest in the industry. Having completed his electrical apprenticeship, Richard quickly moved forward undertaking a wide range of domestic and commercial work from reactive maintenance and new installations to inspection, testing and data cabling. In 2006 Richard was successful in applying for a testing supervisors' position in the testing department and then moved on to become a Qualified Supervisor. Continually driven forward Richard now finds himself as contracts manager and Qualified Supervisor for our Manchester office.
Role: Contracts Manager and Qualified supervisor. (Manchester)

Chris Lloyd, Contracts Manager
Qualifications: c&g, 16th edition.
Experience: 27 years electrical contracting.
Role: managing projects for industrial and commercial clients.

Nigel Johnson contract manager Manchester

Qualifications: NVQ Level 3, C&G 2391
Experience: 2 year full time electrical course at West Cheshire College, completing the third year as an electrical apprentice with Barlows (UK) Ltd. Nigel quickly became a senior maintenance engineer and having continued to progress within the company is now contracts manager, whilst having an input in reactive maintenance.
Role: Contract manager. (Manchester)

Gary Gibson, Contracts Manager smatv & aerial

Qualifications: HNC electronic engineering, c&g micros, css working safety at heights.
Experience: Ten years in the electrical retail trade.
Role: specialist in distributed aerial and satellite projects.

Andy Caputo, Electrical Contract Manager / Technical Director

Qualifications:City & Gilds 236 Pt1&2 electrical installation, 17th Edition Regulations, Inspection and testing.
Experience: 25 Years experience at Barlows
Role: Technical assistance. Quotations and contract management. Under floor heating and pressurized hot water systems. Access control and door entry. Gate and door Automation.

Alec Mossford, Contracts Manager

Qualifications:City & Guilds Electrical Installation; City & Guilds 16th & 17th edition Regulations; City & Guilds IT (Microcomputer systems installation and maintenance)
Experience: 40 years electrical contracting (36 years with Barlows (UK) Ltd)
Role: Managing projects for local authority properties including, schools, police authority buildings,
and commercial clients.
