Arcon Housing Association
Barlows Uk Ltd are proud to announce they are now an approved contractor for Arcon Housing Association.Barlows have been working closely with the association to carry out void works including electrical and plumbing works.We are currently in the process of an emergency lighting upgrade to housing stock and have recently completed a major CCTV upgrade installation.
Irwell Valley Housing Association
Barlows Uk Ltd have recently completed a FRA project to bring the associations housing stock up to the required standard.This included additions to Fire alarms and emergency lighting systems.Major works involved installing intumescent strips to existing fire doors and upgrading over 100 new doors.We had to work closely with scheme managers and residents to ensure all noise and disruption was kept to a minimum.
Wigett Construction Limited
Barlows UK Ltd have recently completed a housing project consisting of 2,3,4 & 5 bedroom timber framed houses for AKSA Housing in Oldham.The project involved the complete electrical installation including communal TV system and the integration of solar panels.
Bosideng,Huddersfield
Barlows UK Ltd have recently completed the fit out of Bosideng in Huddersfield.The works included the complete electrical design to the shop and back of house including power,lighting,data and fire alarm system.
Paxton

Following our Fire & Security Divisions extensive training from Paxton at Head Office in Malpas, Cheshire, Barlows (UK) Ltd, on the 1st March 2010 became UK registered installers of Paxton Access Control equipment including both Switch2 & Net2. Paxton Access gives total security and control over whom and when authorised personnel can enter restricted areas and can be integrated into existing CCTV and Intruder Alarm systems. Barlows (UK) Ltd are NSI - NACOSS Gold Installers for Electronic Security Systems including Access Control, Intruder Alarms & CCTV and they can be contacted by emailing alarms@barlowsuk.co.uk or the Alarms Division DD on 01948 820 700.
FIA Membership

On 24th February 2010, Barlows (UK) Ltd became full members of the Fire Industry Association, or the FIA as they are more commonly known. The FIA was born in 2007 out of a merger between two longstanding and well-respected trade associations, FETA (Fire Extinguishing Trade Association) and BFPSA (British Fire Protection Systems Association). The two associations had long shared a common interest in the promotion of the professional status of the UK fire industry and the FIA is proud to continue this work. The Fire Division are now committed to achieve third party certification within the next twelve months for both the quality of workmanship & management to BS EN ISO9001:2008 standards. Mr Paul Reynolds Manager of Barlows (UK) Ltd Fire Division and delegate for Barlows UK Ltd for the FIA, said on receiving the membership that with the inclusion of Barlows UK Ltd as a FIA member shows our commitment to the Fire Industry and would welcome any new clients wishing to discuss any new contracts for new or existing systems. Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service
1st March 2010
Barlow’s recently received a plaque from Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service at a presentation evening for new recruits. This was in recognition of new recruit Andrew Elson passing his training programme to become a part time firefighter at Whitchurch Fire Station. Barlow’s now employ several part time firefighters across Cheshire and Shropshire, and will continue to support our local community in this way.

Malpas Under 11's win Chirk Football Tournament
9th October 2009
Local junior football side Malpas JFC, have won the Chirk football tournament. Malpas Under 11's, who are sponsored by Barlows, ended up winning the tournament after a shaky start. Malpas goalkeeper Lloyd Chesters, saved three penalties in the semi final penalty shoot out, which saw Malpas progress to the final. The final was finally won by a single goal from Tom Lightfoot. This tournament come after Malpas getting beat in the final of the Stockport junior blues football tournament. Such a great achievement for such a small local community football side. Well done boys!!

Barlows partner with Cheshire Fire & Rescue service

We have once again shown our commitment to working within our community, as for the fourth time Barlows have decided to partner with Cheshire Fire & Rescue service, and the Princes Trust. This includes a two week placement for a designated candidate on the Princes trust scheme.
During his time here at Barlows, he will learn all about dealing with customers, and will be closely mentored by one of our approved electricians.
The previous three placements, have all been a tremendous success. We again welcome our new placement and hope that valuable experience will be gained.
Electrical Heating Upgrades Completed for Equity Housing Association

Upgrades of night storage heating and electrical installations have recently been completed at Pine Court, Didsbury and The Woodlands, Stockport on behalf of Equity Housing Association. The project covered over 120 dwellings across the two schemes. This involved the replacement of night storage heaters, panel heaters and down flow heaters with new higher efficiency Creda appliances and also replacement of domestic and off peak consumer units and upgrade of earthing.

Barlows Alarms Inspection

Our 'Alarms' Department has had its NSI NACOSS inspection following a re-certification audit previously undertaken by the NSI at its head office in August. The regional inspector visited our offices for a full 8.5 hours audit. Part of the assessment was to ensure that our department within the company satisfies the requirements of the NSI NACOSS Gold Scheme. The resulting summary stated that the department is very good and indications are that the quality management system has been well implemented and controlled.
Barlows Cricket Team

A select, hand picked, finely tuned, team of Barlows employees took on a team headed by Steve Daulby in the annual cricket match at Malpas and District Sports Club.
Barlows quickly reached a total of 172 all out although, with a couple of overs still remaining, Tim Clarke starred with an impressive innings of 69 (despite being dropped three or four times!).
The opposition struggled to reach the required total due to some fierce bowling, although to be fair the light was fading and it did try to rain! Light refreshments and a BBQ followed. A great day was had by all and plans are already being made for the return match.
Barlows Awarded

We are proud to announce that we have been awarded the fire alarm maintenance contract for Irwell Valley Housing Association who manage over 700 homes in Greater Manchester. This includes the service and maintenance of all the fire alarm systems. This has enabled us to strengthen our technical expertise with the servicing of the associated equipment including AOV, automatic door openers and access control equipment. We are responsible for all fire extinguishers, dry risers and hose reels. Contracts manager Nigel Johnson said 'we are very proud and pleased to be awarded this contract. We have built up a very good team of dedicated engineers to carry out this work'.

We completed electrical work at Henleys 1st outlet Store in Cheshire Oaks, Ellesmere Port.
POPULAR UK fashion label Henleys is opening its first UK outlet store at Cheshire Oaks Designer Outlet. Henleys, which started out as a men's t-shirt brand, now offers a range of men's and women's casual wear, denim, outerwear and accessories.
The store, which has ranges for men and women with up to 60% off typical high street prices, will be officially launching on Saturday, May 23 with exclusive offers and competitions.
Colin Wilding, general manager at Cheshire Oaks Designer Outlet, said: 'In the last couple of months we have seen an influx of exciting brands to the outlet and Henleys is another great addition.
'It's an innovative brand that appeals to the young and fashion conscious shopper, so I'm sure it will prove popular with our customers.'
